Glen@Xanadu: The Reserve range continues to be the best of what we are able to produce in a given vintage. Our 12th consecutive release of our Reserve Chardonnay, 100% of the fruit for this wine is from our oldest Chardonnay vineyard, the Lagan Estate.
Tasting Notes
Gingin clone. Natural fermentation on fruit is encouraged to further emphasise the personality of this wonderful site, resulting in a medium bodied Chardonnay offering pear puree, zesty grapefruit flavours and a quartz-like, almost crystalline, mineral edge to the structure.
Plaudits
The ’23 vintage is turning out to be a very special one in Margaret River both with chardonnay. This is a humdinger. Sure it’s tightly wound, given its youth and all the electrifying acidity within, but there’s substance and depth, too. It’s linear, long, with almost a savoury overlay. Brilliant. James Halliday 97 Ponts.

Glen Goodall (chief winemaker at Xanadu) knows what he’s doing. He’s won a plethora of awards, including the best winemaker in Australia by James Halliday in 2023. Located in the pocket 5kms south of the town of Margaret River (not far from Leeuwin and Voyager) Xanadu wines are exceptional value for their quality.

Xanadu Wines was established in '77 by Dr John Lagan and was purchased by the Rathbone family in '05. The quality of the wines made since the acquisition of the Stevens Road vineyard in ’08 has been consistently outstanding. They are a finalist in the "Best Value Winery" category in 2024.
