Xanadu Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Xanadu Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Glen@Xanadu: The Reserve range continues to be the best of what we are able to produce in a given vintage - single vineyard or otherwise. Supplemented with a small amount of Malbec from our Stevens Road vineyard in Wallcliffe. The resulting blend from these vineyards has married beautifully, proving again that sometimes ‘the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Concentrated blue fruits, ripe mulberries and blackcurrant pastilles with hints of potpourri and graphite.
Palate: Full bodied, yet refined and pure with a dense core of dark forest fruits and cassis, ripe tannins, and lingering fruit finish.
Cellaring Potential: Will reward medium to long term cellaring.
Plaudits
Such purity of fruit coming through alongside detail and precision across the palate. A richer, slightly generous offering yet the essence of cabernet with cassis, mulberries dusted in spice. The fuller-bodied palate is complete with lovely tannins – plentiful, if fine – with a long, long finish. Classy cabernet; a great reserve. Halliday Wine Companion. 96 Points.

Xanadu has about a broad a range (purely from a price point perspective) as any winery in Margaret River. This is their Cabernet Flagship. 2022 was an excellent vintage (yields were low but the quality of the fruit was outstanding) and it has won many awards.
