Windows Petit Lot Syrah 2023
Windows Petit Lot Syrah 2023
Chris@Windows: A reflection of Margaret River Syrah. Handpicked when both fruit and tannins have reached optimum ripeness, we have taken a very hands-off approach in the winemaking process. As always, the aim is to let the fruit speak for itself.
Tasting Notes
The vines are planted in well drained loam over gravel and maintain a finely tuned balance between rich fruit flavours and spice and peppery notes through meticulous attention to detail with regards to pruning and canopy management.
Plaudits
Review of the 2021: This is beautiful. A composed, detailed and superfine wine with heady aromas and flavours. Everything perfectly combined. Fuller bodied but not weighty, the tannins are exceptional. The finish lingers but my palate hankers for more, so the only way to assuage that, another sip. James Halliday 96 Points.

Such an incredible cool climate Shiraz, and a testament to the skills of Chris Davies that he can make a shiraz this good. It’s not a shiraz that will blow your head off like those from the Barossa, but you will be very impressed.

A boutique gem. When 19-year-old Chris Davies planted the vines here, he had a vision: single vineyard, minimal intervention, everything done by hand, everything done right.
Quality shines through in every aspect – from the fruit (which is all hand-picked and basked pressed) to the labels (which are individually numbered) to the wines (which are perfectly balanced and of exceptional quality).
James Halliday.
Chris Davies planted the dry-farmed Windows Estate vineyard in ’96, at the tender age of 19. A trained viticulturist, he has tended the vines ever since, gaining organic certification in ’19. As vigneron, he has had considerable show success for consistently outstanding wines.
