Windows Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2023
Windows Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2023
Chris@Windows: This wine is our somewhat more layered and complex take on Margaret River’s classic white blend. As the dominant variety, Semillon makes up 68% proportion of the blend. The focus with this wine is on picking the grapes when the vineyard’s canopy is in good condition and the juice’s natural acidity still high. Organic and only 542 cases produced.
Tasting Notes
The Semillon component comes from our main vineyard and contributes beautiful grassy, citrus characters to the blend. The Sauvignon Blanc (27%) on the other hand was grown in soil with a greater clay/quartz component. A complex textural wine that will age gracefully for 5+ years and will develop richness, and a subtle toasty quality with time in the bottle.
Plaudits
Lots of energy here with aromas and flavours rolling through. A neat mix of lemons and limes plus barely ripe white nectarines. The palate is tight, fresh and long with a slip of creamy/nutty lees bolstering the mouth-watering acidity. Super fresh, super delicious. 95 Points. James Halliday

About Winery
A boutique gem. When 19-year-old Chris Davies planted the vines here, he had a vision: single vineyard, minimal intervention, everything done by hand, everything done right.
Quality shines through in every aspect – from the fruit (which is all hand-picked and basked pressed) to the labels (which are individually numbered) to the wines (which are perfectly balanced and of exceptional quality).
James Halliday.
Chris Davies planted the dry-farmed Windows Estate vineyard in ’96, at the tender age of 19. A trained viticulturist, he has tended the vines ever since, gaining organic certification in ’19. As vigneron, he has had considerable show success for consistently outstanding wines.
