Windows Petit Lot Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Windows Petit Lot Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Chris@Windows: The grapes for this wine come from the oldest vines on our property, which are planted in well drained loam over gravel and ironstone. Great care is taken to handle the fruit as gently as possible throughout all the processing stages.
Tasting Notes
A fuller bodied red that is elegantly refined. With savoury notes, earthy undertones and a wonderfully long finish, perfectly ripe tannins and seamlessly integrated oak, this is another strong vintage for our Cabernet, a wine of great subtlety and complexity that will reward careful cellaring for 15+ years.
Plaudits
The attention to detail at Windows Estate is second to none – from the way the fruit is grown (organically certified). Nothing forced; it’s all about reflecting a sense of place and it’s done brilliantly. Proof right here. A superfine and elegant wine with dabs of cassis, blackberries and mulberries, not fruity, though this is on a savoury spectrum. Beautiful today yet will last some distance. James Halliday. 96 Points.

About Winery
About Winery
A boutique gem. When 19-year-old Chris Davies planted the vines here, he had a vision: single vineyard, minimal intervention, everything done by hand, everything done right.
Quality shines through in every aspect – from the fruit (which is all hand-picked and basked pressed) to the labels (which are individually numbered) to the wines (which are perfectly balanced and of exceptional quality).
James Halliday.
Chris Davies planted the dry-farmed Windows Estate vineyard in ’96, at the tender age of 19. A trained viticulturist, he has tended the vines ever since, gaining organic certification in ’19. As vigneron, he has had considerable show success for consistently outstanding wines.
