Vasse Felix Tom Cullity 2022
Vasse Felix Tom Cullity 2022
Virginia@Vasse Felix: The Tom Cullity remains the same in its stature, meaning and beauty from the old vines, and tells the story of only the minor nuances of 10 beautiful seasons. The 2022 simply looks vibrant, energetic, powerful and delicious.
More than a flagship, it embodies the soul of Vasse Felix.
Tasting Notes
Deeply structured with layers of blackberry, dark cherry, and tobacco leaf Plump, succulent fruit with energetic acidity. A savoury core with complexity. A powerful, graceful, and elegant wine that reflects the vintage with precision and gravitas
Plaudits
Refined and beautifully detailed. From this vintage onwards, the flagship red will be released on October 1st, a good six or so months earlier than before. Why? Winemaker Virginia Willcock says matter-of-factly, 'because it’s ready'. 97 Points. James Halliday.
It is a ripping wine. One of the best yet from the hand of chief winemaker Virginia Wilcox. 97 Points Real Review.
It’s elegant, balanced, and beautifully presented. A wine that is both pretty and powerful, with refinement and elegance. Perhaps the most seamless and perfectly integrated of all the Toms. 98 Points Ray Jordan.
Sully Says
Sully Says
2022 was a fabulous year for Cabernet Sauvignon in Margaret River. With Virginia Wilcox recently crowned the winemaker of the year in James Halliday, this flagship red from Vasse Felix has been highly anticipated. It is one of those reserved for a special occasion.

About Winery
About Winery
Vasse Felix is one of the big Margaret River three (Leeuwin and Voyager the others). It is officially known as the first commercial winery in Margaret River so the winery will always be an integral fabric of the region. They have a broad price range here – from the classic red at $15, to the Tom Cullity at around $200. The restaurant, in culinary experience and setting, is exquisite, and lauded winemaker Virginia Willcock has just been voted winemaker of the year – 2026 Halliday. (Head viticulturalist Bart Malony was voted best viticulturalist by James Halliday in 2024 so must know what he’s doing too.)
James Halliday:
Vasse Felix is Margaret River’s founding wine estate, established by regional pioneer Dr Tom Cullity. Chief winemaker Virginia Willcock has energised the winemaking and viticultural team with her no-nonsense approach and fierce commitment to quality.
