Luke@Stella Bella: What a vintage, no significant rain from September onwards, nothing but sunny days. Good viticulture reigned supreme and the cooler part of Margaret River, as always, was the place to be.
Tasting Notes
Pinot Gris or Grigio, call it what you like. A small batch, wild ferment wine brimming with pear and pink grapefruit backed by hints of bath salts and a savoury nuttiness. A salivating palate of green mango, poached pear and fresh limes. Perfumed, luscious, soft and so very approachable... Get into it.
Plaudits
Does labelling a wine pinot grigio sell more than pinot gris? Probably. Still, this is a good drink either way. Expect lemon and nashi pear, baked apple, too. It’s quite spicy and, while fresh, there’s lovely texture. The palate comes lightly layered with flavours of clotted cream and nougat. James Halliday. 92 Points.
