 Liv@South By South West: With every vintage that come and goes, we feel we understand the varietal a bit more which helps us to create a wine that plays closer homage to the Pinot Grigio styles of northern Italy.

Tasting Notes

On the nose it displays an orchard fruit dominance with gentle citrus aromatics. The palate expresses fresh pear and honeysuckle characters and has a lasting mouthfeel.

Plaudits

A blush-pale yellow; lovely texture as there’s a creaminess across the palate plus flavours of lemon-lime zest, nashi, fresh herbs, coriander seeds and ginger spice. Some phenolic grip, but this just glides to a resounding finish. Really pleased to taste a pinot grigio this good. 95 Points. James Halliday.

About Winery

The dynamic duo of Liv Maiorana and Mijan Patterson have running South by Southwest for almost a decade and doing some great things in the wine world. It’s a pretty cool brand, label, and philosophy (all around small batch, and minimal intervention, where the fruit speaks for itself) and, most importantly, they produce some delicious wines.

Livia (Liv) Maiorana and Mijan (Mij) Patterson, respectively an engineer and graphic designer in their previous lives, share a love of travel. They embarked on a ‘wine odyssey’ to study the cycle of winemaking in different wine regions around the world. Mij’s focus is on their 2 organic estate vineyards; fruit is also sourced from trusted growers around the South West.
