Liv@South By South West: Stylistically, we say the 2024 Chardonnay is a contemporary Margaret River Chardonnay with a classical edge.

Tasting Notes

The nose is flinty with lifted intense varietal characteristics of citrus and stone fruit combined, and complimented by pretty white flowers. The palate expresses a minerally liveliness of stone fruit, with some oyster shell, and saline notes with well-balanced natural acidity and complexity.

Review of the 2023: It was almost a mistake to pour this on a Saturday, just before dinner. Or happenstance, perhaps, because it’s an excellent, classy chardy, delicious on its own or with dinner. It has energy and drive. It feels light in its outlook yet it has substance, terrific length and the finish lingers. James Halliday 95 Points.

About Winery

The dynamic duo of Liv Maiorana and Mijan Patterson have running South by Southwest for almost a decade and doing some great things in the wine world. It’s a pretty cool brand, label, and philosophy (all around small batch, and minimal intervention, where the fruit speaks for itself) and, most importantly, they produce some delicious wines.

Livia (Liv) Maiorana and Mijan (Mij) Patterson, respectively an engineer and graphic designer in their previous lives, share a love of travel. They embarked on a ‘wine odyssey’ to study the cycle of winemaking in different wine regions around the world. Mij’s focus is on their 2 organic estate vineyards; fruit is also sourced from trusted growers around the South West.
