Paul Nelson Loam Syrah 2023
Paul Nelson Loam Syrah 2023
Paul@Paul Nelson: A solid evolution in the LOAM series, and this year is a solid step forward. From one of the best Syrah appellations in Australia, this wine emphatically stamps its authority.
Tasting Notes
A deep ruby and soulful hue. The palate is laden with dark fruits, graphite, ironstone, and dark pepper. Medium to full bodied, there are multiple dimensions to explore as the silky tannins and oak layer each sip with an extraordinary poise that will evolve over time.
Plaudits
Dazzling abundance here with blackberry and fine black pepper. Soft, enveloping and deliciously cohesive, it carries a welcoming ‘come home for the weekend’ feeling. The tannins are fully integrated and harmonised; there are no jangly edges, nothing overworked, and the ripe, fruit-centric core propels everything forward with serious depth. This is a most brilliant syrah. James Halliday 97 Points.
