Nocturne SR Cabernets 2024
Nocturne SR Cabernets 2024
Julien@Nocturne: The 2023 Vintage is a thing…..probably the most amazing thing about this mild dry season almost all varieties excelled. Not too hot, not too cold, it was the Goldilocks of season where everything was just right. This allowed us to produce medium weighted effortless wines with the finest tannin structures.
Tasting Notes
tasting notes of black fruit (cassis, blackberry, mulberry, black plum), herbal/vegetal notes (tobacco, bay leaf, green olive), and savory undertones like nori, tapenade, and iodine, often with hints of cedar, cocoa, and baking spices
Plaudits
This takes the excellent ’22 into a slightly more ethereal zone. Perfumes of tobacco leaf, black fruits and slightly minerally ironstone nuances. The palate has fine chalky tannins and such precise oak handling combining to bring it all together. Such extraordinary value for this class. 95 Ray Jordan.
Everything about this wine I love. The colour, a black-red, the aromas, all heady and most importantly, the palate, all textural and detailed. It is very youthful, so its best days are ahead of it. Fuller-bodied and has some grip and texture, which adds definition. 95 points. James Halliday.

About Winery
About Winery
I grew up with Jules (Julien Langworthy, owner of Nocturne) and watched him climb the ranks by winning awards at Deep Woods. Nocturne is his own project and, by the feedback and reception the wines have been receiving, he seems to have applied all nous, skill and passion from the Deep Woods days and amplified it.
James Halliday.
Nocturne Wines creates consistently high-quality, limited-quantity wines, which explore Margaret River’s subregions and vineyards. Nocturne started as the side hustle for Julien Langworthy that has evolved into a fully fledged (and sought after) brand. In ’16. These vines are now the backbone of Nocturne's Sheoak Single Vineyard Cabernet, and the very essence of the single-vineyard wine.
