Julien@Nocturne: 85% Sangiovese is the hero of this wine backed up with 15%-barrel fermented Tempranillo. The fruit comes from the sub-region of Carbunup in Margaret River.

Tasting Notes

Pale pink color with fetching aromas of spiced cherry and strawberry. The palate reveals delicious peach and strawberry fruits with a spicy backdrop of musk and wet slate, finishing dry with brisk acidity and a savory aftertaste.

Plaudits

Another excellent offering from the King of Pink, with this all textural and creamy yet bolstered by crunchy, bright acidity. Watermelon and rind, cherries, sumac and some warm spices with a touch of fresh herbs, all of which make this a delicious drink. It has some volume yet finishes dry and lingers long.

I grew up with Jules (Julien Langworthy, owner of Nocturne) and watched him climb the ranks by winning awards at Deep Woods. Nocturne is his own project and, by the feedback and reception the wines have been receiving, he seems to have applied all nous, skill and passion from the Deep Woods days and amplified it.
