Marq Malbec 2023
Marq Malbec 2023
Mark@Marq Wines: Intense sweet fruit and velvety tannins – everything a good wine should be.
Tasting Notes
It is a full bodied richly flavoured wine with intense sweet fruit. This wine is juicy and fleshy with noticeable oak that adds just an element of grip and structure to this otherwise silky soft wine.
Plaudits
Another first-rate malbec from this single vineyard in Wilyabrup. It’s the result of choosing the best barrels made from what Warren considers the best parcels of fruit. And this might be the best yet. It’s bright and brilliant from the moment you look at the glass. 95 Points. Ray Jordan

The Marq Malbec. These guys were onto the Malbec (as a pure varietal and not a blend) before it became fashionable. Awesome wine and value from a cool little hidden gem of the Margaret River Region.

About Winery
About Winery
Mark Warren’s label Marq hits a few great touchpoints in Margaret River. Tucked away, small scale, boutique and (I think) exceptional value.
He has always been known for the Malbec, but they have added significantly to the range over the last 10 years. It’s also one of the most beautiful surroundings for a charcuterie board, if you are in northern end of the Margaret River region.
James Halliday.
Mark Warren has a degree in wine science from CSU and a science degree from the University of WA. The underlying philosophy: an exploration of the potential of alternative varieties and unusual winemaking methods by someone with an undoubted technical understanding of the processes involved.
