LAS Vino Albino Pinot 2024
LAS Vino Albino Pinot 2024
Nic@LAS Vino: Hand picked fruit from one of the oldest and last remaining vineyards in Margaret River that contains Pinot Noir. In comparison with other years the wine is lighter in colour and lower in alcohol, yet has body and balance through a secondary ferment. You can think of it as a rose if you like, but its a lot more than that.
Tasting Notes
Delicate, elegant and balanced with plenty of flavour and texture. Layers of complexity on the palate with flavours of pomegranate, grapefruit, lychee, guava and a hint of sea salt.
Plaudits
The indelibile Nic Peterkin has his stamp is all over this captivating rose style... Aromas of cranberry and pomegranate with a little cherry and spicy grapefruit. Old oak builds complexity without distracting from varietal purity and exoticness. Ray Jordan. 96 points.
Albino PNO is one of those rosés that’s lovely on its own but much better with food, as it’s super textural. A pale coppery hue. Enticing thanks to the aromas and flavours. The palate unfurls with spiced poached cherries, clotted cream and pear-skin phenolics adding texture. 95 Points. James Halliday.
Sully Says
Sully Says
Seems bloody expensive for what is essentially a Rose, but that would be underselling (and undervaluing) Nic’s time, attention and craft put into this wine. From Vineyard, to winemaking to label. It’s the real deal.

About Winery
About Winery
Nic Peterkin likes to zig in a wine landscape that zags. With a heritage of grandparents Kevin and Di Cullen (of Cullen fame) and dad Mike Peterkin (Of Pierro) he was probably destined to make wine in Margaret River, but the creativity and risk taking that’s flourished on the canvass needs to be cherished and valued. He does the Margaret River staples (Cab and Chardonnay) extremely well but also brings some alternative varietals to the fore
LAS Vino stands for Love, Art, Science. It’s an apt name for his wine. Everything by hand. Everything boutique. Everything with style.
James Halliday.
Owner Nic Peterkin is the grandson of the late Diana and Kevin Cullen (Cullen Wines) and the son of Mike Peterkin (Pierro). His ambition of making wines that are a little bit different, but also within the bounds of conventional oenological science. He intends to keep the project small.
