Cherubino On The Fringe Chardonnay 2023
Cherubino On The Fringe Chardonnay 2023
Larry@Cherubino: The wine is fermented and aged in large format foudre and concrete eggs, adding depth and complexity to the flavour profile. The finish is long and persistent, leaving behind a satisfying and refreshing aftertaste.
Tasting Notes
Boasts a bright and refreshing acidity with a rich and creamy mouthfeel. The nose is filled with aromas of lemon zest, green apple and hints of vanilla which follow through to the palate. On the palate flavours of ripe pear and baked apple are well balanced with subtle oak notes and a touch of minerality.
Plaudits
The second wine along with the pinot that is part of this duo where the winemaking is hands-off and designed to capture whatever comes from the vineyard and season. So, this is terrific. The palate adds a little chalky acidity to provide direction to a sustained finish. Layered and complex and interesting from the get-go. 95 Points Ray Jordan.

We haven't made a mistake in displaying this label plain white, with a rustic scrawl on the bottom. That is indeed the label. At 44 bucks, it's not a cleanskin. Doesn't taste like one either. Larry's creativity to the fore.

Larry Cherubino is taking over the world. Seriously, buy the guy a suit and make him Prime Minister. From roots in the Great Southern, his influence and reputation is stretching to nearly all deep and untouched crevasses around the globe – such is the unyielding growth and influence of his foray into the winemaking world.
Witness the sleek and stealth operation that is the Margaret River base. Set among the trees, all concrete, glass, leather, for good times and great events.
Or make it down to his sleek little haunt in Subi, for an impressive list of wines to swash.
Even better, buy some of wines here. They are pretty highly sought after – and awarded.
James Halliday.
Larry Cherubino has had a particularly distinguished winemaking career, first at Hardys Tintara, then Houghton and thereafter as consultant and Flying Winemaker in Australia, NZ, South Africa, the US and Italy. He has developed numerous ranges, including Cherubino, single-vineyard range The Yard, and the single-region Ad Hoc label. The range and quality of his wines is extraordinary, the prices irresistible.
