Cherubino Frankland River Riesling 2023
Cherubino Frankland River Riesling 2023
Larry@Cherubino: Pale quartz in colour, the bouquet has lime and apple with chalky minerality. This minerality continues on the palate with spices and more lime. The acidity is long and the texture is soft.
Tasting Notes
Expect intense lemon zest, lime, and subtle notes of dried flowers, quartz, and fennel seed.
The palate is characterized by fine texture, vibrant intensity. Citrus characters. A persistent, fresh and clean finish.
Plaudits
I suspected this might be a pretty good riesling from this region and this vintage. Well, I got it right. A pristine and pure riesling with notes of lemon zest and talcy bath salts. The palate is where this cracking wine really excels. It has a fine texture with tremendous intensity and vibrancy. Minerally, with spicy lemon characters. There’s a steely tense wet pebble edge through to the sustained finish. Ray Jordan 96 Points.

About Winery
About Winery
Rob Diletti is an exceptional and experienced wine maker and Castle Rock produces some exquisite cool variety Pinot and Riesling. Their 2021 Diletti Riesling was voted the second best in the country by James Halliday.
James Halliday.
An exceptionally well-located vineyard winery and cellar door on a 55ha property with sweeping vistas of the Porongurup Range, operated by the Diletti family. The 2-level winery, set on a natural slope, maximises gravity flow.
The rieslings have always been elegant and have handsomely repaid time in bottle; the pinot noir is the most consistent performer in the region; the shiraz is a great cool-climate example; and chardonnay has joined a thoroughly impressive quartet, elegance the common link. Rob Diletti’s excellent palate and sensitive winemaking mark Castle Rock as one of the superstars of WA.
