Castle Rock Diletti Riesling 2023
Castle Rock Diletti Riesling 2023
Rob@Castle Rock: The natural balance of fruit to acid is superb, with the time in barrel only working to soften the edges of the wine, making a supple mouthfeel. Lees derived texture sits well within the fruit adding an extra dimension of complexity. The finish is super fine and long, with a subtle saltiness leaving the mouth watering.
Tasting Notes
Initial top notes of lime, dried herbs and brioche-like toastiness. The finish is long, crisp and textural.
Plaudits
Okay, Diletti flexes his considerable winemaking skills with this Porongurup Riesling. All designed to build texture into a naturally fine and linear variety. Viva la Difference! Ray Jordan 95 Points.
A succulent, layered, intriguing and delicious riesling of concentration, power and freshness. Hold onto your hats! Lots of lime, green apple, palate-staining texture, nuance of cashew nut savouriness, a light ginger trill and hazelnut character. Superbly juicy and fresh. All of this so beautiful and well balanced. Right on. James Halliday 96 Points.

About Winery
About Winery
Rob Diletti is an exceptional and experienced wine maker and Castle Rock produces some exquisite cool variety Pinot and Riesling. Their 2021 Diletti Riesling was voted the second best in the country by James Halliday.
James Halliday.
An exceptionally well-located vineyard winery and cellar door on a 55ha property with sweeping vistas of the Porongurup Range, operated by the Diletti family. The 2-level winery, set on a natural slope, maximises gravity flow.
The rieslings have always been elegant and have handsomely repaid time in bottle; the pinot noir is the most consistent performer in the region; the shiraz is a great cool-climate example; and chardonnay has joined a thoroughly impressive quartet, elegance the common link. Rob Diletti’s excellent palate and sensitive winemaking mark Castle Rock as one of the superstars of WA.
